A Not so Sassy Bee Mentor!

I learned about bee mentors when Whole Kids Foundation, the non-profit I created, started funding bee hives for schools. We required each school to have a beekeeper who is willing to share their experience, knowledge and time to support the success of the hives. Sometime those mentors are volunteers - but we allow our schools to use our grant funds to pay as well! When we started that program, I never imagined one day I would get to become a bee mentor!

I retired from Whole Kids Foundation in December 2022 - and in Feb 2023, Bowie High School needed a mentor to help them start an apiary and bee club. That is the kind of fate and good fortune that I benefit from on the regular!

As a mentor, I am delighted to share my experience as well as all I have learned from beekeepers around the world.
